Alright well my dad just gave me a 73 2 door Maverick that we've been working on forever as an 18th birthday present :yahoo: i have a couple of things want to do to it already, disc brakes, lower it a little, and A/C. i live in arizona so i need A/c in the summer:cold: i wanna know what i would need, if parts form another car would fit it? ( dad owns an junkyard so i have access t a lot of parts)
    Thanks,
    Gabe

The easiest way to install A/C, is to find another Maverick or Comet that has air, and switch the parts. There should be lots of reading, if you use the search feature.

    Hi Dave,
I'm intrigued by your suggestion that the easiest way to A/C in a Mav would be to put a factory set-up in it. Wouldn't an aftermarket in-dash unit, such as a Vintage Air be a lot easier to install and more reliable and efficient in the long run?
Maybe one of you members with such a system could enlighten us on your experience with similar kits?

I agree. I think ur better off getting the incar stuff from another Mav/Comet and go from there. Ur best bet is to get one from some of the folks on this forum, unless u can get one from a Mav/Comet in ur junkyard.
Do a search - I have seen heater boxes on here from time-to-time.

I wish it took a weekend! I set out to do it in a week but I had to order a couple of things that held me up. It didn't take a whole lot of time though. My car had no AC from the factory, but now you'd never know it wasn't there from the beginning.
