Can anybody tell me the best Wheel and Slick size that will fit under a Maverick ( or in this case a Comet ) without any Wheel Tub or leaf spring mods. I don't mind rolling the wheel lip under a little but I would rather not do that if I can get away with it. Thanks Gary:hmmm:

I was just thinking this same thing only I need to know the backspace and offset. As much as I like the sleeper look with the 14s and hub caps I like traction at the track better.

I'm looking at the 15 inch stuff. Glad you mentioned the back-space because I will need that info also.....Gj

i run a 28x9x15 m/t ET DRAG on a 15x8 with a 4.5" back space on my car clears pretty good with a 5/16 spacer to help keep it away from the springs

    So if I get 1X" X 8" with a 4" back space I should be ok?

An example would be 245/45/17 with a 4" back space should be ok.

Wheel Vintiques 15x8 4.25 backspace. Dogdish fits this model.

I run a 15x10 w/ a 28x10.5 MT slick. If I remember correctly the backspacing is 4.25 on the rim. fits nicely.

Same thing I ran only I had 15x9's. Fits nicely as you said, although, we did have to roll the lip for extra clearance.
EDIT: watch the tire's actual sizes. Sometimes a 28x10.5 might actually measure 28.5 x 10.9..and if the clearance is already tight with a "real" 10.5 they'll be even tighter with the "oddball" sized ones. This actually happens often and generally the larger the tire, the more lee-way there seems to be in the actual tire measurements (some 32x14's are 33x14.9...). Most of Hoosier's tires measure closer to what's stamped on the tire than others ;)
