250 engine question

    While changing my shocks tonight I found a broken hose. One end is still connected to the small can under the larger blue cannister. It has two connections on it with one connected to the broken hose and the other is just open. My questions are: what is this can and what hoses connect to it?

    75 maverick, 89 Cougar (sleeper), 04 Superduty and a 87 Cougar
    That is the vacum storage canister for your AC. It might have rotted out and was bypassed.
