With permission from Stefan I have started a thread here:
    http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?p=752716#post752716

I saw a thread on another forum where the guys there are paying it forward. I thought it was a great idea. On that forum it has really taken off. So let's give it a try here. Here is where I saw it if anyone wants to get an idea of what I am talking about: http://www.ffcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=258059

With my build I have parts that I know I will never use. Rather than try to sell them, I would rather give them to someone who really needs them. Now remember, there is a difference between wanting, and needing. I would ask that you try to hold off from hoarding parts here, and let the guy that really needs the part grab it.

I think we should try and keep this to Maverick/Comet specific items. Now this could be car parts, memorabilia etc... I think as long as it is in the realm of what we all come to this site for we can keep it on track.

    So, any thoughts or comments???

The only problem i see with this is the people that actually sell parts may try to get in on this for basically free. Although i dont think anyone will try to, it still troubles me

I'm in I just need to get to the (verry few) parts I have that I won't be using also. Some people may think they are not worth mentioning but then some may need it. .. It may be a couple of days but I will be back once I see what I have. ..

Similar idea crossed my mind a little while back. I think it looks great on paper and worth a try in my opinion. Be nice if it works out like it should. Some good people on here.

Cant really think of anything I NEED but I'm sure I can find some stuff I dont need.

I'm good to go, I've given some stuff away in the past, and I've been given stuff by other people. What goes around comes around. Just don't screw us, or you'll pay the piper!

Added some rules. If this gets abused, I will put an end to it.

We along with another forum got scammed.

I see the "pay it forward" thread as an extension of the free parts forum. Only memebrs with 10 or more posts have access to the threads in the free parts forum. If anyone suspects that a member is abusing it, please let me know ASAP!

We do this on HDForums in the Dyna section. The thread is called "parts for the cost of shipping" or something like that. It's not where people list what they have but people can post what they need. It has worked very well with minimal abuse that I'm aware of.

This arangement makes more sence to me. Might be less of a chance of scamming. Most people are honest but it only takes one to ruin a good thing.

2005 Rx8 with mods... hopefuly some time soon I will have another maverick and have time to work on it!
This is a great idea, I do see where some people might be leery but I know there are a lot of us that have to save up to buy parts such as myself. I have a change jar just for the Mave to buy my parts with so I have to wait until I have enough change saved up to buy a part.

Would it be the same as posting a want ad or is there going to be a "need ad" instead?
