Does any one know of a good source for used Maverick parts in North or Central Florida. There has just got to be a field full of old Mavericks somewhere down here. I'm looking for a good used power steering control valve for a 76 Maverick 2dr with a 250 6cyl and c4 trans. I just bought the old car, and have got a pretty good start toward getting her street worthy. Unfortunately some previous owner (Strong of arm, and weak of mind) disassembled the valve and never put it back together. If only he would have left me the parts, I could have rebuild it, but no such luck. I would normally just order a new one, but have any of you priced a control valve lately! There like $200 plus another $100 all because Lance Armstrong didn't leave me a core. I only paid $600 for the whole car. I'd hate to spend another 3 hundred for a little valve.
Thanks Guys. I look forward to hearing from my fellow Floridians.

Any valve off a similar ford will work.

I think I have the valve off my 71, you can have it for free if you want a core..... I'll check when I go out to the garage this morning.....

When you find out how great the car handles, especialy at highway speeds, when you restore the factory power steering, you might rethink the "weak of mind" part of your above statement. If money is no object, Borgeson makes a nice intergral power steering box that will let you back into a parking place with ease without that twitchy, wandering feel of the factory unit

Thanks allot. I am supposed to be in Ocala on Feb 2nd. If you can find that old valve, let me know. A little power steering would sure help with my arthritic Shoulder.

Thanks for the tip br408408. The guys over at Borgeson really make some neat looking systems, but there a little pricey. I think I'll try and find some used parts to rebuild. As for the "week of mind" statement, I probably shouldn't question the intelligence of people I don't know. Although I think this is the same guy who used a piece of a Natural Lite beer can to block off the EGR Valve. I laughed my tail off when I saw that. He had a good idea but I bet it didn't last more than 10 of 15 minutes. Cheers
