its been proven that sllick 50 has no benifits. its just snake oil. your best to just run a premium brand oil. i wouldnt run synthetic oil in an old motor either. it will leak out of every seal.

Maybe lucas additive. That stuff will increase your oil pressure, but also increases your viscocity.

Sticky crap. Sticks to moving parts and doesn't drip down as quickly.

Duralube...It works...I use it in my fireburp (yes thats what I call it). 125K, dont leak a drop, dont burn a drop and you can stand a dime on the engine while its running. Its a friction modifier. (slick 50 has solids in it...Teflon)... It can actually plug oil filters and teeny tiny oil galleries like todays engine have. I you have seen the informercial that ran years ago on TV... It was done at the machine shop I have used for years here. I have personally examined the crank and bearings/pistons from the BB Chebby that they dynoed with no oil in it after running Duralube through it during the break in. Engine made a 500+ HP pull with no oil in it and there was absolutely no discernable adverse wear on the reciprocating components or the Cam/cyl bores.
I have used it ever since

teflon is for your non-stick pots and pans, not your motor/engine:naughty:

Slick 50 didn't have teflon in it - it had a "teflon like" additive that bonded to parts under heat and pressure. It is the only motor oil that was ever given an FAA approval for use in aircraft engines. The same technology is being used under license and with other similar products and yes it does work. There is also a pure additive (without the oil) that you can use that will prevent normal wear to a great extent. I don't believe the claim that it will make up for or repair wear that is already present but like many products that is their claim. The additive is very expensive and requirs several treatments to fully protect your vehicle - per the instructions.
