Almost forgot, a 302 from that era would have the firing order on the intake, 15426378, and a 351 Windsor or Cleveland would be 13726548
Only what I've seen. The Pantera crowd used to snatch these blocks up back in the 70's and 80's before stroker kits came out. These were a one year only casting in 72 or 73 and only came in someting like Torino station wagons (or was it Rancheros ? ) with the FMX. I watched the one on ebay for weeks before it finally sold for $775, it was a factory (fresh)reman long block.
went pretty cheap! I have one, app 80,000 miles on it. 73 LTDs came with the dual pattern bell, only drilled for smaller tranny.
Thanks, it's really neat to learn about things you did'nt know existed, guess it goes to show an old dog can learn new tricks Bossed
Seee, there's another myth busted.:Handshake The one on ebay also had only the small pattern drilled. First I've heard of the LTD getting them. But not surprising, Ford always did use parts for more than just one application.
Always willing to learn new facts! never heard of these with small block bellhousing but would love to come across one
D8AE is likely a 351M/400 part. The "A" denotes a full size car, small block parts usually rated an "O", "D" or "Z"
