Well, Ruth and I just got home. Considering the weather we had a great turnout. Approximately 30 people. 4 Mavericks and 2 Comets. I can't believe how great all the Maverick and Comet owners are. We had a great time, got to meet quite a few new faces, and stood around and BS'd for a few hours. Oh, and the pizza and wings were good too. It rained and blew on us most of the way up there. Passed a couple of accidents on the way. Stopped raining and cleared a bit just before we got there. Thanks Ryan for spearheading this. I'm sure the weather will cooperate for the next one.(y)(y)

If was great to see all of you. 6 cars was still more than i've ever seen and more than any other time in Az. as far as I know. Had about 16 Mav/comet owners and some significant others.

It was Great of the Maverick gods to part the Skies as soon as Gene, Robbie and I pulled up. and it didn't so much as sprinkle until I was leaving the parking lot.

    And Don't forget,

It was great seeing everyone's cars and meeting everyone and putting some faces to the names! I wish I would've had my car there but it will be there next time. I would also like to say that you were all very nice and friendly people, im on a ford diesel forum and there is a lot of a$$holes on there but i don't see that on this forum. I even came home with a grabber hood(thanks Adam)! There was also great food and like Ryan said

i wouldn't mind doing a meet once a month or once every two months. only thing is that not everyone lives in the city. october just seems so far away.

Yes a great time was had by all and with the weather I honestly did not expect as many people to show.

    Great meeting all you guys:Handshake

Yeah very hard for people to be making it from out of town once a month that, can get pretty expensive all that travelling.

It does not meen that some of the more local guys like our selves can't get together more often:dancing:

Normally I would think 3-5 guys "get togethers" (barbecues, track meet ups, other car shows, dinner, short cruise, Mod days at the house, etc etc etc)

5+ guys "meets" sky is the limit and can do just about anything, the bigger events where we travel from miles around. Even us PHX guys can travel too so its not always biased and close to our homes.

Here in tucson there is a old style drive in diner called "Little Anthony's".
on saturday night's people from all over bring there classic cars and park. hang out. DJ play's oldies music. lot's of family atmosphere. then there is S.I.R dragstrip, something always going on there. "A" mountain is a spot where people go to enjoy a great view of the city. it has lots of parking, but no services.
there are several casino's that offer plenty of parking and hotel accomadations as well as food and drink. Reed park has a mini car show on sunday nights, and there is always a concert in the park as well.

so, Tucson is a spot to consider!

Yes, this was a great time!! Even though the weather didn't co-operate we still had quite a good turnout. I had a blast and it was great to finally meet more Maverick/Comet guys. I can't wait to go it again.

MT Lemon is a awwesome cruise,, its cold up there, there is a pizza place-no parking. a resturant kinda pricey. some look out areas but not much parking for say 25 mav/comets. thats why i did not include it in the previous post.

I mentioned this earlier and just stumbled upon this as a potential second get together...

    Event Info:
Cruise on Central at Park Central Mall, Napa Nights of Thunder, drag cars firing up, all makes models and years, Live Coverage, Roddin and Racin, and Lowrider magazine covering event, Great music by Higher Power Band,Dj's, Great family fun vendors, great food parking starts at 1 show until 9p.m. Please follow all laws, no alcohol and just have fun!

When I've gone to this in the past we have avoided the main event and set up just down the road at Camelback and Central. There is a nice lot there and people with a laid back attitude towards cruising. Additionally you can make the loop and check the whole strip out as well. I plan on going to Lopers (7th street and Indian School) to unload the car and then drive it to this lot. If anyone would be interested in joining me, I will arrange the event.

Tony you forgot the most important part, You will need to get your car running. I'll try to make it if I don't have anything going on that weekend.
