Hey all, I tried to join this forum quite awhile back but my activation email never showed up. So I just perused. After wanting to start posting, I resent the activation email and still never showed up. Discovered it in the spam folder, but I'm here now and all is well.

I actually don't own a Maverick or a Comet, but my dad had a maverick when he was in high school that he was pretty fond of, and a cousin of mine has one too.

As for myself, I'm 29 and previously restored a 1978 LTDII (my dad originally ordered it new) and am now in the middle of a complete 1967 Mustang coupe restoration.

When it comes down to the bodies, our cars aren't much the same, but when it comes down to what makes them GO, they're a lot the same and that's why I'm here :thumbs2: This forum has a lot of info on the C4 transmissions which is info I really need as well.

I know where a 79 LTDII is sitting. I wanted to do something with it but the woman (ex wife) said no. She is having a hard time finding door hinges for it lol.

wow, on to the second page now. I hadn't checked back to this thread in a day and it grew!

I'm from Ames, IA to answer one's question. Home of Iowa State University. We can invent the computer or do surgery on your cow, but don't ask us to throw a football.

I've attached a pic of the old LTD II since someone brought it up. My dad ordered it in 1977 when he graduated highschool. We had it when I was a kid, then it got sold. Found it for sale (by the guy he sold it to) when I was in highschool, so we bought it back for $675. It made a nice highschool project for me (I kept the color original). Since my Mustang is torn apart, I don't have any worthy pics of that to post.

Looks good. Ours had a Roman numeral II on the sides and is/was red and white. Looking at yours makes me want it lol. Like I said, I know where it's sitting and if I ever win the lottery I will nabb it and make a dream come true lol.

mine had the roman numeral II on it when it was original as well. It was something I never got around to locating and getting back on after it was painted, though my dad always wanted to get the II back on. I did find a grille badge for it though (saw it on an LTD II in a NAPA parking lot so offered the guy some money for it!)
