Has any body ever put a see-thru filter in the hose that goes from the fender to the pump ? I was thinking it would catch all the crap that could be in your tank first. I ahve a seethru just in front of the carb and nothing is pumping in it now so I think I either need a fuel pump or my pick-up is pluged. I was going to blow in the line and see if it pumps then, which would mean get the tank cleaned, but if it doesn't I think I need apump and I would like to put a filter before it. Any thoughts Rick

Those see thru filters are famous for burning cars up. They break.

    No gas flow

Check your engine oil and see if it smells like gas or is reading high on the stick if the fuel pump went bad it could push fuel into the crank case just a thought it has happened to me in the past.

Running an extra filter puts extra strain on the fuel pump

All better, the float was stuck in the bowl and thus no gas.
