    wondering if there are any good places that are safe to buy from where i may be able to purchase a refurb. 250 head for my 72 mav. sick fo trying to find a used one and end up still having to get all the spring keeps valfves etc. and head work. id rather find one ready to bolt on but whats the mort reliable and cheapest out there?

    Most auto parts stores can get remanufactured cylinder heads. Check there.

    You might try these guys http://www.doverusa.com/?ref1. I bought some 302 heads from them a few years back, and they were perfect, with springs and rockers, just put them on. Don't know anything about price, but mine were very affordable. Good luck!

    all they have for this site (ford six) is high end performance stuff to buy.with info on older head designs and engine info.kinda confusing u would think they would sell stock stuff?

    found most stores are charging about 350 for a head trying not to pay that much maybe im just being a cheap ass.

    $305 plus $85 core for a rebuilt and checked out head. Good price. It would probably cost you as much or more than the core charge to send them a head. $350-$400 is a good price for a head that has been magnafluxed, pressure tested, new seals, broken springs replaced, surfaced, and valve job.
