my baby is GONE! :(

sold her today. it was a hard decision but for the 7 years i had her. i put under 400 miles on her since then. hate to say it but it was just going to waist in my back yard. too many projects and really i wanted to start on something new. three mavericks IMO is one too many. really this is probably one of the best mavericks i had! i guess what i mean is NO problems AT ALL! didn't leak once in my driveway. ok the door jammed up on me for about two years but the day the guy came and looked at it, it opened. lol! but this was still original paint and motor with 132k on it. but if i had to choose between the other two mavericks and well the "other" car this one would be the first to go!

if those of you remember back 7 years ago when i bought it? it was sitting in an alley for 5 years. it had original paint and motor with 132k on it. to this day it still has the original paint and still 132k on odometer.

i put a lot of work in this baby! disk brake conversion, full suspension rebuilt with all poly bushings, 600 lbs coil springs, rebuilt trans with shift kit and 2800 stall convertor, new gas tank, new/rebuilt carb, redid the seats with the original OE material. power coated control arms and wheels including spare tire, all 5 new bridgestone tires (spare too), CD player with 6x9 and 150 watt sub, tons more.... he got a deal!

but it is going to a good home and the car will be garaged. it is more then it got when i owned it. good thing is that the car will say very local to me and i see the guy about once a week. so he has some interesting plans for it! i look forward to seeing it get what i couldn't give it.

here it is as it leaves down the long road into the sunset  i will miss it!

but i do look forward to my next project!!!! :) :D

remember the car sat for 5 years prior and it sat for another 7 years. things leak when cars sit. ;) not to mention my other car has less miles then that on it and it leaks all over the place.

well it didn't have to but i wanted to build something else. and two are enough...lol!

haa haa actually he said down the road he wants one but would probably paint it. he wants to maybe do a triple carb set up, efi or do the aussie and manifold set up. that is what i wanted to do but no time.

yep yep that was a while back. i looked it up when i got it and was like wow that was fast. 7 years goes by very fast!

You scared me, by the title of the thread I thought your car had been stolen!..... For your next maverick project swap in a K into that drag car lol. With a little 6262 it'd go faster than the 347!

yes it does i was supprised how fast time flys!

i thought people would think that or think i crashed it. lol! i'd do a RB swap. lol! but then again i'd do a ls3 swap before that!

nope! but the funny thing is it was jamed up for a year and the day the guy came and looked at it, it opened. NO JOKE!

well i was thinking a GM product. yeah yeah i know! but i think it would be fair to have two of each. you know two fords, two japanese cars and to be fair to the lone GM in my stable one more GM to make two....lol

right now i am in love with the LS motors. if i could put my ls2 in my maverick it would run 10's no joke but becuase it is in a car with an IRS and weighs like 2 tons with me and a full tank it would be lucky to run 12's. i was thinking of even more useful like a trailblazer SS with a smog legal blower.

or old school japanese car like a 240 or 510 but the newer tech is really impressing me these days.

240/510? Do you mean those compact nissan trucks? My uncle has a 86 I think it's a 240. Well it has the 2.4 Z engine in it. They're great little trucks though!
