i just got into this car from seeing it in Dazed and Confused. id really like to restore one. im selling my nissan napz to so i can get the money to get one built. thanks guys
from Riverside. There are usually deals in the OC, i've seen several for under $500 in the last couple of months.
i saw that they had one in barstow and san diego that was going for about $600. where would be the best places to shop for parts in so.cal? panels, windows, hoods, etc... man, if you dont mind, if you ever come across good deals would you let me know? i cant get anything till i sell my truck cause my girl doesnt want to fill up the garage w/ cars we dont use... i already have buyers, so hopefully they come thru soon. thanks for the reply.
I'll keep an eye out for you! as for shopping , these cars aren't like mustangs/camaros where you can just go to a local shop and pick stuff up. A lot of stuff you have to order online like from autokrafters.com Interior parts you'll likely have to get used, because they're not being reproduced. But guys on here are parting out cars everyday, so its not hard. Maverick and Comet Classifieds You can pick up a nice hood from Mr. Yee...He's local http://www.maverickman.com/MaverickHomePage.html Also critesperformance.com has parts.
Nica truck man! i love the carb setup http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/2332731944.html Also you shouldn't limit yourself to 69-72. You can swap the small bumpers to the later cars. It's an easy swap. I think you'd be better off looking for car that has disc brakes already. they were optional in 74/75 and almost every 76-77 has them. Its easier to do a bumper swap than it is to do a disc brake swap. Another note is that the 71-77 Mercury Comet is basically the same car. Those are pretty nice too.
haha, you found my post. yeah, i decided to part everything out on that truck and put stock stuff back. i think ill get my money back that way. ill be looking into the mercury as well, thanks again.
You said you had Doug Thorley make you headers? Do you remember who made them? Jaime who's one of their top welders used to have a 69.5 Maverick My uncle also has a 86, I think its a 510 though. Neat trucks! And it just so happens that their rear shocks interswap with mavericks Small world.
