Im gonna be replacing pretty much everything in the rear of my 75 2dr mav. A friend of mine said i should upgrade my gears to 3.75 for better acceleration, ive seen most people have 3.73 any ideas on if i should even upgrade it? im a noob when it comes to stuff about the rear end, so any info would be helpful!
It depends on what ur main purpose for the car. If ur main usage drag racing than high 3.00 to 4.00:1's. If ur using mainly on the street and highway; I wud not go over mid 3.00:1 ratio w/ the C4. IMO
well its just gonna be for street fun, im gonna be dropping a 302 in it along with a manual tranny, i did some research i think i might go with the 3.73 what do you think for my use?
actually one last question sorry! can i just get any 3:73 gear thatll fit a ford 8"? or does it have to be specifically for mavs or an interchangeable part?
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RMG-4901111/ Id like someone to make sure this is the right size for a Ford 8" cus I'm going to get the same size just a 4.11 thanks
check this site out i found things to be a little cheaper! and you can actually see whats for the specific model of your car cheers! http://www.ringpinion.com/PartsList...2&Side=Rear&DriveType=RWD&DiffID=160&CatID=35
decided to go with a 3.55 itll be a nice jump from my stock right now but still be decent on the hwy etc so stoked to get it!
They are the right one's. But with 4:11 ratio, tire spin will increase so a mini spool or some other locker set up will help. Not real good to use the spool on the street though.
Another gud all-around selection. Probably the better choice for non-overdrive and street/highway use.
I had 4:11 in my las set up... BAD ASS light to light, but that's it. 3:55 would be way more practical. jmo.
