HI All With the great outdoors as my shop things have been slow. but now the weathers breaking in my favor.. Both bumpers are off the car at about 100 lbs. each it seams. They were heavy with all the metal backing crap. thats all gone but the front just looked ugly without something. So I scrounged around my yard and found a rubber bumber off something (don't know what) but its light maybe 15 lbs. So I fabed it on .. not bad looking .. at least it looks compleat. The two turn signal holes on the side I'm going to use to direct air to the intake and the plate hole in the center I'm going to use for the transmission cooler. Next well be to pull the old 250cu. out for the 302 and maybe for later use in my 61 Comet after a rebuild when the 200 cu. gives out. tim
Looks like a pretty solid car. Gud luck w/ it. I'll say that bumper fab is unique - you won't see another like it. Some will like it - some won't. I like what I see from the front.
Hope your gona put somthing with some meat behind that ! 15lbs. of rubber ain't gona do much in a wreck
OH WELL.. just call me red neck.. Its just going to be a bracket car only won't see street time. the bumber well be painted the body color .. going to stick with the orange. tim
LOL.. Now if you look at my truck you'll say .. Why yes he is.. Painted with spary can's Rustolum. Rubber front and back bumpers, vinel siding side skirt, All ford power and running gear and front supension. Volvo bucket seats (heated).. 14.0 1/4 mile Take Care Tim
If that was your guess...you missed it by 11 lbs....the front bumper weights in at 89 lbs., rear small bumper weights 16 w/mounts. No wonder gas mileage took a hit in '74
That rear bumper that I got is just a heavy as the front.. it has all that steel just like the front... it doesn't look like your's has that.. If I can figure out how to mount it without all that steal I'll put them back on, Cause I do like chrome. Tim
