I was browsing craigslist and found an add for a Gent selling 3 ford 9 inch rear ends from full size vehicles.

Are these interexchangable with our Mavericks when they are from full size vics?

If it turns out they are I will probably be heading down to get one...anyone else in my area (I know there are a couple of you) needs one let me know and I can scoop you up one aswell and maybe get us both a little better of a deal ;)

too wide unless you narrow it. if your looking for a bolt in, then find a versailles or 57 ranchero unit

Yep, too wide. 57 Ford Ranchero or wagon is a direct bolt in. :)

The 9" in my Mav is from a 70 Mustang, just had to get correct offset wheels. Mine are 15x8 with 6" backspace. Those in the pictures are for coil springs so you's have to do some mods there.

57-59 Fords are all bolt ins.

    9"

Those are not 9" fords they are 93/8" out of full size fords you can tell by the rib that turns down on the center section and they are very weak not a performance part so warning to all steer clear of them.

The axle housings are the same. The last one I had, had a WAR case center section in it and it was a 9".

    If you do a search...
Someone on here found that an 8.8 from an Explorer fits well.
