Gas Cap Bolt Hole

    Can somebody tell me which screw to remove around the filler to bolt the cap on ?:tiphat:

    I seem to recall the 2 o'clock hole...but I don't have that car anymore.

    I think it's the 2 aclock too but it looks like I will have to drill it out so I can use the bolt and I just don't want to start drilling without knowing for sure. Their are screws in ther now and the cap has a bolt. So if anyone with one of these cap would look at theirs it would help THANKS Rick

    4 o'clock on mine and I did not have to drill since the bolt on the cap ring is the same size as the one I removed to bolt the ring one in.

    I would use 4 o'clock one as well..

    I had a local friend call me and said he used the 7 o'clock so I di and I love it. Thanks Rick

    I'm using the 4 o'clock hole, 7 o'clock should work too, it will just go to that side when you loosen the cap. Mine was the same thread as the bolt I removed.

    what is the bolt on the gas cap for exacaly? mine dont have it. is it like a teather or something?

    Yes it is a round cable that holds the cap when you get gas. Alot of earlier Mustang's had them. I like that I don't have to worry about somebody borrowing my cap when I 'm not there.
