hi i'm new here and really don't now much about the maverick. i have a maverick that i did a v6 to v8 swap and can't seem to get the motor to sit right in the engine bay.i had the inline 6 250 in and swaped it out for a 289 v8.now i know i needed the v8 mounts to do the swap but i don't think i got the right one's.somebody told me that the 1965 mustang mounts would work so i bought the frame mount and motor mounts form a 1965 to 1970 frod mustang but when i sit the motor the motor sit's way to high and the tranny will not line up right.any help would be great here are some pic's on what i have

this is a pic of the motor mount from the top were it bolt's up to the motor to where it bolt's into the frame mount

this is how the motor sit's in the engine bay on the mounts.as you can see it's not right

so what i did sofar was order some motor mount off ebay for a 1971 maverick v8 but i still have the 1965 mustang frame mounts.now will those frame mounts work in the maverick with the motor mounts i have bought off ebay or will i have to get those off a v8 maverick to?

    thank you ROB

You will also need Maverick frame mounts, they are not the same as Mustang frame mounts.....

I'm sorry I have to ask this but you never know with people and what they know. You got the V8 belly bar right?

YES its needed, but buy the aftermarket one that just was put together by one of the members here. Or I'll buy the new one and you can buy my old one :16suspect.

well i was truning over the motor today and i think one of the valve are bent because when the valve is going down it makes a creeking noise and then when it all the way down it wont come dack up untill the piston hit's it from the bottom and them it snap's back up.i thought it was just a sticky valve because the motor has sat in the garage for a while so i put some lube on it and truned it over some more but no luck.so this weekend i'm going to pull the head off and take the valve out to see what the problem is
