Anyone know? I don't really want to take chances on an old brake system from an old car. Will Mustang II stuff work? Thanks
Willwood, SSBC, they both make them. I can't think of the place that makes the stock style ones...if you search for info on them, it's on here somewhere.
I just did this one and I'll be posting info on it.. http://www.mustangsteve.com/cobrabrakes.html get the 12.5 gt kit
X2 By the time you replace the worn out components on a used sytem you'll end up at the same price as this kit.
There's a few things that annoyed me about the conversion 1. No instructions (yes its straight forward but still) -Fix, after a few test fits easy to see how it goes 2. YOU HAVE TO PRESS THE DRUM HUB OUT OF THE DRUM SHELL -Fix, press out the studs then the drum hub. 3. The hub outside lip may need to be grinded down so the rotor will fit up against the hub -Fix, 4.5 grinder did the trick, took a few minutes each side. 4. MY STUDS WERE NOT COMPATABLE WITH THE ROTOR. The stub bosses were to high keeping the rotor from sitting flat. -Fix, this took some time, seems 02 explorer rear disc studs are a PERFECT fit for my app. 5. Brake lines are bubble flare. -Fix, Buy bubble flare line run it to the block, cut to length and install double flare end. I went all the way with this project, ATE rotors, hawk pads! Explorer 96 master cylinder with 76 booster. Replumbed all my brake lines. The system is soo simple and elegant, not to mention powerful.
