Stabbing the 306 + 4r70w tomorrow ((DDOOHHHH!!!!!)) (updated) Since the 306/4r70w are bolt together, is now a good time to bolt on the headers also?(install everything at once) Or should I lay the headers in the engine bay and bolt them up after the engine/tranny install?
I doubt you would be able to get it in there with the headers on, your better off to put the motor/trans in and then put the headers on.....
you won't be able to lay them in either. The best way is drop the drivetrain in, then slide the passenger side up from underneath (car will need to be jacked up to do this), bolt down the passenger side engine mount and then pivot the engine up (jack/hoist) and slide the drivers side up from under.
Doh! So I found out the hard way the old tranny plate is not going to work.. Hmm thought this was an AOD plate, guess not
I'm trying to find that out now, I have a 90 sc motor and aod bolted together in the garage. I can use that one if they are the same but I won't spend the effort getting it out till I know.. (its buried deep in the garage :16suspect)
Where's the cut out for the inspection plate? at the bottom of the engine plate? Both my AOD & 4R70W have them, yours looks like the one I got with my T5...
