When i got my car 7 1/2 months ago the odometer read 54,980 miles. Now, Just 7 1/2 months of driving later, the odometer reads 62,960. That is a lot of miles in a short amount of time!

Anyway, What this post was really for was my interior. I am in the position now where i want to start my reconstruction for my interior. It currently has (if you've seen the pictures linked in signature you would know) all the stock bench seats, front and rear. I believe the carpet is stock as well. I'm looking to tear all the seats and carpeting out and replace it all, leaving bench rear seats but installing bucket front seats. Carpet I dont plan anything fancy with, It's just in need of being replaced (or cleaned and shampooed very well) and i figured replacing would be easier and look nicer. I also plan to replace the steering wheel, and maybe then i'll get my wires hooked up so i have a horn again!

With that being said, I was looking for advice as where to get all the replacement parts, what kind of seats i should go with, where to get carpet and the such. Any advice or personal beliefs/experiences would be helpful before i get started.

    Thanks!
    Tyler

Carpet is easy as it is repopped and availble in a perfect molded fit. While doing the carpet put in some sound deadening underlayment. Price on that will vary with your choice of products from commercial made to construction grade materials. Steering wheel, I like the Ford sport wheel. Make sure to get one from a donor car that has the horn in the wheel not on the turn signal lever.

Seats will be your most expensive problem as the bucket tracks are hard to find that fit a Maverick and command a premium price when you do find them. For seats, I like the original style high back buckets either the original Maverick ones or from a donor Mustang.

Search around on the board for these items and you will find many threads and pictures on what others have done.

You should be able to find most of what you're looking for and have a few options to choose from.

That's good that carpets are an easy find. What do you think the bucket tracks would run (If i manage to find some) And are there any other cars that i could rob them off of? I know where a 74 Maverick sits that has bucket seats, I thought about buy the car itself but i couldn't get a price out of the guy so i just left it. Would the tracks on that be the same for my '72?

Thanks, I'll look around on here! :D

Can you send me some pics of your seats/interior? :) just so i can get a better idea of how it looks.

    Thanks!

There are 2 sets of tracks - LDO buckets and high back buckets. Both will work but they are a bit different and may need a little tweeking to get the ride height right depending on your choice of seats. Decent sets sell for $200 and up from what I have seen.

Search the board for " bucket seat tracks" and see a few of the many threads on tracks.
