Just a funny story I thought that I'd share. Told my father that I just purchased a 73 Maverick and he recited a story from when I was about 7 and we lived in West Berlin (1972) (yeah, I'm old). We went to Greece for vacation and for some reason couldn't catch a flight out. My father took my sister, then 1, and was able to fly back to Berlin. My mother and I caught a ferry and traveled to Italy, where my dad picked us up in his brand new 1972 Maverick (white with blue stripes) that he had bought through the military PX.

Then in high school, my dad bought me my first car, a 1973 Maverick Grabber, red with black stripes.

Now I'm working on this Gold 73 Maverick with my 12 year old daughter that will probably end up owning this car after its all fixed up.

I figure that in a couple of years, I'll pick up another Maverick for my son and I to work on (he's 10) so by the time he can drive it'll be ready for him. :thumbs2:

Cool Story. I wonder if your Dad's White w/Blue stripe Maverick was maybe a Sprint edition? Do you remember what color the interior was?

don't have a clue. Barely remember the whole trip. I did get a really cool set of Greek (bronze age) toy soldiers to play with on the way back through Italy though.
