Is it just me, or do you think Maverick prices are starting to rise.

Last year when I was looking for our Mav, seemed like $2K would get you a decent car, good body and well running engine. Looking on Craigslist and everything that is $2000 - $3000 needs a major repairs and/or bodywork.

another member and i were just discussing this. certain cars on ebay have fetched almost double what i thought they would bring....maybe it's a sign that some small part of the market is turning around :yup:

Bad thing is the price of parts is higher too. Just scanning ebay for parts and the dash pad I paid $45 for last year is now $75. Ouch.

Dash pad or cover? A good dash pad is upwards of $200. Perfect one can bring $400 or more.:)

Sorry - Dash cover - the molded ones. I think ACCO was the maker.

In my case, it was cheaper to buy a decent running Maverick for $3600 then to spend $18,000 for a new car. When money is tight, alternatives are looked for. Plus, even with rising part prices, its far cheaper to keep an old Ford running than these newer cars. I always shake my head when my father-in-law bitches about how expensive it is to fix his Mercedes. Idiot.

I paid $50 for my Maverick. these new higher prices dont bother me any.

hmmm, I wonder if I could sell mine for $5000 now? Nah, somebody would tell me that my stripes are the wrong color and the door panels arent correct for a 73. :hmmm: :rofl2:

I think it is time we seen a price jump for the maverick. It really is a sharp looking car. It is rarer to see a maverick then other things out there on the road.
I might put mine up on ebay with a high reserve just to see if it will reach that price. And if it does well money talks!!!!!

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
They are expensive! I have a 240D that i used to drive, but for maintenance it just got way to expensive.

The transmission also went out once, and the rebuild kit was $2,000. A rebuilt one was $4,500 plus labor. So I just bought the kit. And my C4 rebuilt kit was only $250.

When the brakes went I parked it, one of these days I'm going to fix it back up and stick a 351W in it :D

But the steering in those is a dream! they handle better than the 20 year newer domestics that i've driven.
