I found a deluxe gas cap with cable and mounting stud and want to install on my 73. Could someone post a pic or a good description on how to mount it?

I'm guessing with the cable laying flush against the rear panel the eyelet it passes through on the back on the cap is supposed to slide easily around the cable? Note I said supposed to. It's binding up therein creating the problem that prompted the post. Easy solution--cable cutters!

Make sure the cable is clean. Perhaps a little silicone lube will help as well.

The cable mounts in the 4 o'clock position I believe if memory serves me correctly.

    1970 Gas Cap Install

:thumbs2:Hello, I am also going to install one of these beautiful deluxe gas caps on my 1971. Does the stud go through one of the existing flange screw holes? The nut obviously goes inside the trunk? Thank you.

I just put one on my car and you use the 4 o'clock hole and just screw the bolt on the cable into it, same thread. Bam boom Done Rick
