Hey, Just had a birthday about a week ago and Saturday for my birthday my step mom gave me a cd/dvd player that she had in her Suburban before she sold it (about 2 weeks after installing it). So now I finally have some tunes to put into my car! :dancing:
Now for the hard part...How am i going to wire it all, And what will i need?
    Help?! :s

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
Get the manufactures name and part number, look it up on Google and you'll be able to find the installation diagram.

Can you be more specific? Does the car have a radio in it at all? How about speakers? Are you adding speakers?

Excluding the speakers, which will vary quite a bit, there are only three wires you need. Power, Ground, and a remote/accesory wire.

Do you own and know how to use a multi-meter?

Radio shack sells a 10-pack of inline splices that can be very handy when tapping into your electrical system if the wiring isn't already there.

There is an old AM radio that i think came with the car in there now. The speakers suck, but will have to do until i have the money to replace it.

Did your new stereo come with it's installation cage? It's a sheet metal sleave that gets mounted in the dash, then the stereo slides and locks into it.

If you've got an existing radio hooking up will be easy. I'd be glad to help out just as long as I'm not on a job.

I believe it has a plastic cage? Not sure if the cage will fit in the Mav or not though. I know nothing about electronics so help is always appreciated :D Let me know when you're available and i'll try to get something. Like i said though, i have no money if i need anything special to install it then it will probably have to wait. Still trying to find work!

Hope you get some help. I'd be happy to if I was near. Install isnt usually hard. IF it will fit you can cut the factory under dash bracket to accept the unit. Its pretty easy with a Dremel tool or die grinder.

    Heres mine.
