My buddy is putting in a 5.0 & a T5 into a 74 Mav. He is wondering if he should use stock Mav clutch pedal assy or something else. He has ties to a pedal setup, but would using a cable type sytem or hydraulic clutch be easier than the zbar type stock stuff? I have no clue, I'm an automatic guy. He definately is going to use headers w/this 5.0 so maybe the zbar would just get in the way? Thanks
He can use the stock linkage and pedals but has to use the original manual bell housing with an adaptor plate to mount the T5. Otherwise he can use the stock pedals and buy a cable or hydraulic clutch conversion and use the T5 bell housing, there are several options available.
Stock Maverick pedals modified for cable use is probably the best choice. The v8 z bar and components can be hard to find and pricey.
Is there any other pedal assemblies from other vehicles that would work. like maybe a mustang? I cant find any whole maverick assemblies.
I fabricated one my self using the mustang's clutch pedal on the mav's assembly. just tell him to use his imagination
