I went out in the garage and looked at my Maverick tonight. :(

Gotta quit putting off the Mustang gas tank upgrade. I just hate cutting up solid sheet metal. Maybe soon.

I split the lip on the fenders, pulled them out about an 1 1/4" added a wedge shaped piece of sheet metal and welded it back up....rolled the edge also....Very subtle....Don't think anyone will notice unless i point it out

Drove the crap out of it to test out the new tach and shift light. I was still a bit late on the 1-2 shift.

Nice cant wait to see that. and those orange wheels look pretty cool on that Gulf Mustang in that other link. Should look nice on the maverick too.

So do you plan on racing this car in some kind of SCCA series or just building it for fun?

9.81 @ 134mph seems pretty serious to me. How much more serious do u plan to get? I been out of that game so long I guess hi 9's ain't a big deal now.

Really great ride you have Streamliner................and any sub 10 second run is absolutely fantastic although your Maverick looks like it could step into low 9's or high 8's.
I am in the process of going through my drive train after some 10 years and although it did a 9.801 last year I will be more than satisfied with mid to low 10's, plus I don't have to get my license or have the car cert'd for sub 10's.
As far as sub 10's becoming common place....................I see a lot of very high $$$$$ cars doing it, but when you are on a budget I would say that is just fantastic!!!!!!!
As for me, the chassis on my car is the same as it was in 1979 when it ran B/SM....................some 32 years ago.

Put a new windsheild washer pump in it took it to Jifffy lube and then drove it for awhile for the first time in a long time. Which is funny because his morning I'd told my neighbor I was going to sell it for a lot less than I have into it and pay off some bills, buy a new Elantra. He said you will regret it.

My daily driver is a 1970 maverick
Tomorrow she gets new 265x50x15 rear tires, florida plates and insurance. Hope to get around to putting my new arm rest in and maybe the tach my neighbor gave me. The boy and I are gonna spend the whole day in the garage and see what we cant get around to.
