I have a 1970 Ford Maverick and the gas tank is rusted out. I drove it all through high school and my dad and i just patched where it was rusted. But i think it is beyond repair now! So now I am looking for a gas tank to replace the old one. If anyone has one i could buy i would greatly appreciate it! I am in eastern Montana. phone number 406-939-2624 Thank you Tacee
:Handshake it"s a shame that the first part you need is the hardest one to find...good luck. you may want to post this in the... Maverick/Comet Cars/Parts Wanted ...Frank...
you may want to get in touch with the guy on here his name is Matterick from this Thread http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=79434 He found the Maverick boneyard out there in Montana somewhere. I know Montana is a big state but if you need a 70 gas tank this might be your opportunity.... The tanks for the 1970 is different than all the other years as it drops in from the top.
There has been plenty of 1970 mavericks around here lately. Also check the tech articles on the forum ,about early mustang fuel tank conversion. The guys and girls here are great! 1970 inline soon to cruiz....
If yours is still salvageable you can take it to a radiator shop, most fix fuel tanks as well There's also DIY kits: http://www.eastwood.com/gas-tank-sealer-kits.html
If your tank is any good at all you can have it redone. Here is a before and after of mine... good luck http://smegnl.medina.oh.us/index.ph...e&id=57:tank-leak&catid=35:maverick&Itemid=54
Thanks everyone for the suggestions! We have a radiator shop here in town so I think I will check into having them fix it! At least its a start! Thanks again!
