What headers fit with the least amount of fabrication?

    for what motor?
only fabrication you should have to do for any headers is the exhast pipes connecting to them.

sorry forgot to specify. 86 5.0L I hear of alot of people having to bend pipes or make dents to clear steering or such. And the original Headers from the Mustang did not fit.

i have the hooker 6901s. the only thing that i ran into is when i switched my center link and pitman arm from power assist to manual steering is that the pitman arm touches a header tube when almost at full lock on a left turn. it dented the tube on all on its own. the trick is installing the drivers side first with the motor mount bolts out and the motor supported on a jack so you can rock it towards the passenger side. then you put the motor mount bolts back in and put the passenger side in from underneath.

I have seen some pretty bad fitting headers. Most recently was a set of Flowtech. thye were hitting everywhere. I have never had to dent anything on my Hedman Headers. and Ive used both sizes they offer.

I have 6901s as well. Tight but don't hit anything.

Hooker 6901's here also. No problem other than jacking up the motor for the drivers side.:)

No two cars are the same, especially with 30+ year old cars.

That's why some can get away with not doing anything, while others need a little(or in some cases a lot) of "massaging".

Hooker 6901 & Hedman 88300 are the two favorite 1 5/8" long tubes.

The summit and flowtechs have 1.5" tubes, which aren't even worth it. Unless your staying with a 100% stock engine.

I think regular price on the coated one is around $300.

The thing with amazon is that some places have low prices but they stick you with ridiculous shipping. But I checked them out and they have free shipping.

    So it's an excellent deal!

I dont know about anyone else, but I had he{{ getting my 6901's to fit. I tried everything everyone mentioned on getting them in but couldnt. They would hit the drivers side shock tower. I had to shave a half an inch of that side and patch it up. Other than that I got them to fit. Dang headers :beaten: me.

Don't think I would count on actually receiving ceramic coated headers for that price. Only the description says Ceramic, ad lists part number 6901HKR which is for painted headers part number 6901-1HKR is ceramic
