I just got my Head back from the machine shop. The heads off a 81 200, so its already got the larger valves and hardened seats. I had them do a 3 angle valve job, mill it down so my compression won't suffer from the new thicker head gasket, and modify the intake log to accept a holley/weber 2 barrel carb. I'm going to install it on my 76 250 engine with a c4 automatic tranny. I've already purchased a 6 into 1 exhaust header, and plan on ordering a performance cam this week. Does anyone have any suggestions as to which cam would work best for this application ? I'd like it to have a nice healthy sounding lope, but nothing to extreme. I'm only planning on driving the car on the weekends and to local shows with the occasional 40 mile drive to the office.
    What do you guys think.
    I'd appreciate any advice.

They will hook you up with a cam and it'll probably be about half than what classicinlines charges.

Just tell them what you need in cam and they will work their magic :thumbs2:

Matt could I ask what it cost to have the head work done ? I have a 76 250 head that I'm thinking about doing this to and putting on my 71 200.

They charged $200, which I didn't think was to bad considering all that they did. I can't wait to get it installed and see what she'll do

Best cam for what you have done, and a cam that's mild enough for the auto tranny would probably be the 264/274 -112 from classicinlines. That is the most recommended cam for these motors. You can get that in solid or hydraulic lifter for whichever rocker assembly you have.

Build looks good so far :thumbs2:
