I recently bought a 1975 Maverick that's been sitting for some years. It's ready to go except one thing. Something is wrong with the ignition lock. When I turn the ignition on there's two lamps that's supposed to turn on, right? One that says "Engine" and one that says "Alt". But the "Alt" lamp doesn't come on. If i turn the key a little more it comes on but if I let go of the key it goes out. The turning signals, wipers, fan and so on only works when the "Alt" lamp is on.
I have removed the ignition lock and sprayed 5-56 in it but that didn't help. Do I have to replace the ignition lock or what should I do?

My english may not be that good, I'm from Sweden.

I think the ign lock is just that, a lock, if I remember right, the actual switch is mounted down lower on the steering colum, and has a wire size rod running from the key down to it, most likley needs cleaning or lubed.

the...ignition switch...is located on top of the steering column under the dash. maybe try adjusting/replacing it....cleaning or lubed...is good advice also.
