So after a year of looking at the one car I absolutly detest sitting in the drive way, a mustang. I decided in June to take the 86's heart and transmission out and put it in my empty '72 Mav. Today, after numerous problems, even my driveshaft falling off-falling off- falling off wile driving, I got my victory cruise with the 5.0L HO EFI T-5 set up. I was more then excited, beyoned expression excited. I hope that this never gets old. And if I could ever get tired of just hearing it purr in the driveway through it's twin cherry bomb, or god forbid the rumble it makes as it pumps mad power out of my pipes coming out the side of the car, I'll find something else to "fix".

I could curse everyone of the maverick engineers for some of their designs. Except the guy who designed the body line, but I can yell at him for making me like it.

Sorry but if ya couldn't tell I'm a little excited. This has been my DREAM car since fourth grade, since I knew Mavericks exsisted. Got the mav in 6th grade. And now Just graduated Highschool I have the motor. With the transmission. In the car of my dreams... And all because of my hard work. late nights. welding. bending. smashing. ripping. bleeding. (And all the amazing information and help from this forum). This is true victory. No wonder I can't sleep with that Mad Cow in the driveway.

Dare you to tip this one. (y)

Your excitement is great never loose it, I haven't had mine a year yet and my goal is to have it running by my birthday on the 31st its a long way from being done if it ever will be. I'd really like to see some pic's of your car be careful and be safe and only race at the track.

Congrats on getting your dream car on the road. Ive had mine since freshman year. And 17 years later its still my favorite car and love to hear it rumble. Although it seems to sit in the garage resting way more than i would like it to.

Cool. Be safe and have fun with it. Got my first one at 15. Finished my first build around 19. 12.80 at the track.
I still get excited thinking back to my first test drive in that car.

If i put pics up it's gunna be the motor. I spent so much time with it sitting and then on the motor got some surface rust(pimples my lady calls em) that needs removed. then I'm a go gloss white with flat back taillight section and i'm thinking flat black on the pop up spot on the hood. though I know a guy wants to sell me a grabber hood for 200... seems like a great deal to me... just don't got 200... Yeah it's not perfect yet. But i like cruisin by the ricer scene round here and showin em what a real car looks like. thought my next job was to put my stereo back in... think I'll wait.. i like it's sound....
