Rust repair is usually the first place to start. Post pictures if you can.

start with the brakes and front end then the tires and exhaust tires are really important ,make sure it is in great mechanical shape first then cherry out the body, if its a daily driver

Decide what you want it to be. Daily driver? Extra hobby car? Race car? Show car? etc. It'll probably be a combination, but establish priorities on how it will be used. Since its in bad shape, you'll have a lot of work. Establish stages so you don't have to wait till its "done" (probably never will be) to drive it.

I would start with getting it running and driving good. Then VERY SOON after that go through the brakes and make sure they are working well. I car that starts is no good if it can't STOP.

    Mitchell,

Where are you from? If you list your location in your profile, maybe someone near by could give you a hand :tiphat:

just picked up a 73 maverick and while I want to get to the body work, I'm also spending a lot of time just getting it up to pass inspection. So, it kind of depends on what you want to do first. If you don't need to drive it, then start taking it apart to fix the rust and stuff. While doing that, read these forums! These guys here are amazing!

Start with safety/mechanicle items first. Get it safe and running...Then worry about cosmetics. Good luck!!!
