Went to Autozone and O'Reilly's and neither had the 1076 bulbs but they gave me Sylvania 1076 (TP) and Eiko 1076 part numbers. So I went ahead and picked up light bulbs for the rear license plate (of course, it's not working) and I noticed that it was the same size as the 1076 but with only one connector on the base. So I thought, hell, what have I got to lose. So I put it in and BINGO! reverse lights now work. Since I bought a 2 pack, I plopped them in and now I've got to tangle the license plate light. Not even sure if that's required to pass inspection. So, now to put everything back together.

FYI: 97(BP) light bulbs will work for single connector 1076 bulbs.

THANK YOU ALL (Especially DDB) for the assistance. When I'm going blind looking at diagrams my wife wonders if there is anyone that can help. I told her about this site and all of the help that I've received and she is so thankful for you guys. Thanks again!

Actually, I did start with the bulbs. I had to replace all but one bulb in the tail section and the reverse lights were the only one that didn't work. The bulbs that I ordered were the wrong ones and thus the problem. Had to go full circle to figure it out. On the bright side, I sure did learn a lot.

Now to tackle that license plate light.

That's easy, if you have power at the Brown wire off the tailights, they you have power to the license plate light. It could be a ground issue with it, they get corroded easily.
Mustang ones are reproduced, and they will work, if you want something that looks factory.

Ground it was. Seems a little rust between the light fixture and the bumper. Well, I think I'm ready for inspection.
