I finally found someone here to paint the Mav without requiring a second mortgage on my house. His full time job is working at a reputable body shop, but he does business from home on weekends. Four people at work have recommended him.

$2,200 for full paint (change in color) plus welding in the donor truck.:dance:

He can take her in a 3 weeks - he has two project ahead of us.

That's not a bad price, did he mention what material he'll be using?

Prepping - removing side molding and welding holes closed. Wire wheel to remove rust in drip rail. Sand out surface rust on body around drip rail. Sand out rust on cowl. Weld two "pinky" size hole on hood closed. Repair (Cosmetic only) damage on bottom of rocker panel where previous ownder had run over something - didn't even know that was there as you have to lay on ground to see it.

Didn't ask specifics on paint (probably should have) but I asked for the base coat and a clear coat rather than single coat.

I would have loved to take her to bare metal, but that is not in the budget and I need the rust out of her before it become more than surface rust.

I have to remove/replace all chrome and pull off the old rubber seals from door and trunk and replace them with the new ones when he is done. He is removing bumper for me as the doctor still won't let me doing anything that requires 5 pounds of pressure.

In addition, he is going to cut out the old rusted trunk pan and put in my replacement trunk pan - sand and prime it . I have a couple of rattle cans of Grabber blue paint, so I will paint that as it doesn't have to look good.

Craig - I need to get back with you about clips - will send you a PM or email.

Time - he estimates a few weekends, but he will know more once he gets her in and actually starts. Depends on time he can commit - just brought home his first child from the hospital this week (New Daddy :) )
