I was having problems with smelling like exhaust every time I would take a drive. I couldn't get rid of the smell even with windows up. The problem was I had cut offs right after the turbo mufflers. I took it to Dave chapelle's who has done work on my exhaust before. I wanted him to install tail pipes. He noticed that the mufflers were distorted since I was running more power through them that they were intended for.

I have 3" going to 2.5". He installed new performance magnaflows and ran the pipes straight back. The smell used to come in even when driving down the road with windows open or closed. Well, that part isn't too different with tail pipes. It is much much much quieter at idle. However there is a big drone after 40 mph. I lost a very noticeable amount of power at low speeds, don't know what I gained at higher speeds but I'm sure it will be good.

    Mo,
Would you recommend this kit after having it for a while now? It's still pretty cheap. I plan to use Wicked Flow mufflers (supposedly less drone). There's a shop here in Hemet that sells them for about the same as Magnaflow IIRC.

I'm very happy with the x pipe and cut outs, can't beat the $150 price tag. The turbo mufflers were great bit more restrictive. I had no drone with them but then again I didn't have tail pipes with them so it's hard.to say whether I would had I kept them. The car is super quiet at idle which I'm happy about, neighbors, mom and the car alarms on coworkers' cars will all appreciate this $300 upgrade.

I remember you talking about it. I'm interested in trying it too. We should be able to fit it somewhere under there.

my comet has flowmasters and tail pipes that exit downward behind the rear tires, no smell but it also has no rust back there for the smell to come in, it sounds real good drone isnt to bad at all. now on my 69 marquis 429 i have flo-pro 2 chamber mufflers and tails strait out with megs style oval tips, sounds awesome no drone hauls a$$. flo-pros are kind of a knock off flowmaster muffler but still a great muffler all welded and dont rust out.
