...And mine is a "real" Grabber but you can't even tell anymore except for the spoiler. As for options? Got plenty now that I've added them, but it was born about as stripped as it could get.

Bad example Craig. Although it is priced right, it is one of those "original" ones that we are not supposed to modify.

It's not like it is a Grabber or a Sprint or a Stallion. Even if it is ALL ORIGINAL.....it is BROWN with a TAN interior...so I say modify!!

You won't believe what I am going to do to this all ORIGINAL car.

I was wondering if that Maverick would end up on here or not. It looks very clean, but I just don't like the look of it in general. I can't talk too much though because mine is yellow/gold with ginger interior but I love it :)

I bought my original with the intent of keeping it that way until something happens to make me need to change it and atleast that way I know where i'm starting from.

There's also a 70 roller in my area for $800. I called on it but didn't go look at it because he said that the title he has is a 70 but the vins dont match.

Wow, these rules are getting pretty complicated.

    • Shouldn't modify an original car, unless it is a color that is not popular. Then it's OK.
    • Above rule is not valid if car is a Grabber (a REAL one that is)
    • Color should not be changed if car is low mileage original because that's a major modification (seems to conflict with rule one)
    • Is there someone to comsult with as far as which are the good colors and which are the bad ones?
I'm sure glad I took my low mileage original car and hacked it all up without asking opinions on here first. Oh well, it's not like it was a REAL Grabber or anything. :D

I think of the light greens, browns, and tans being on a Maverick that a little ole Granny would be driving.....so those are my bad ones....but.....

....I like the body lines, on the exterior, and interior, of the Mavericks and Comets so much, that if I had a puke green Mav, with a brown interior, and a tan vinyl roof, in survivor mint conditon....I would be thrilled to drive and own it! :D

Here's an example of an ole Granny Interior: (I've hijacked my own thread...but who cares as long as everyone is having fun! :D)

Mine was original and rust free when I got it but it's dying to be modified. I just wish I knew what I was doing....:biglaugh:

I'm sure all the the folks on here with light green, brown, and tan cars will be disappointed to learn that they have "bad colors". What was wrong with the people who originally ordered those cars? Why would Ford even offer these bad colors?

Do have a photo of a "puke green" Maverick? Is that Avacado Green? (I think I would throw up if I ate an avacado.)

Did the ole Granny re-upholster the seats and add the under-dash A/C?

Everyone has their own rules and what they like. Me personally if I had an original 6 cylinder car I wouldn't car about keeping it original it would be modified asap. If it's not a V8 or modified I don't care to keep it original, but that's just me.
