the choke on my 71 maverick (200, 3.3L) wont disengage. its a 1bbl carb, and a heat choke not electric (i know its not the best way to go but im not necesarily trying to build a race car :D ). ive tried adjusting the tension on the choke. even on the lowest setting it barely disengages. any ideas?

its a carter yf model 1bbl. its a rebuilt carb i bought so i assumed it didnt need to be cleaned. the inside of the choke is brand new. ill have to check the tension. i wasnt really aware of how heat chokes work exactly. thanks
