It's a Vacuum leak. :Handshake Or you've got a really nasty cam in there.:thumbs2: Sound would go a long way in that video to confirm this.

I don't have a transmission vacuum line hooked up. Does that matter?

I've got sound now on that video. You've got a vacuum leak. Spray all around the intake with carb cleaner, when it gets to the leak, you'll hear a change in idle.

Nice, I'll check it tomorrow. What do I do if there's a leak? What will I seal it with?

Depends on what the leak is.

I hear a vacuum leak and too high on the idle.. Might also be hearing a missfire but that could be the cam. How's the response when you snap the throttle?

sounds okay, but it shoots up gas to the hood. i tried to drive it out the yard today and it when i stomp on the gas, it bogs a bit. it drove okay when i was pressing the gas a little bit, but when i press it a little bit more, it died and did not want to start up again.

The idle needs to be the first focus. If you can't get it down then start looking for the reason why.. like a vacuum leak. You don't want a real lean condition. Once the idle is stable and low then move to response.
All that I keep reading and feeling is there is a leak. Could be the carb itself. Whenever I start trying to adjust for lower idle that's when I begin to see where problems are like mixture screws out too far or carb plate not quite sealed due to gasket.. How about vacuum? What's the reading?
I am not familure with the Edelbrock carb so not sure how to go about setting it.
