Yeah, I keep mine in a photo album kinda book. I knew I was getting up there, but I dont keep a running total.
ive had to do that recently to try to figure out the value of my car. normally i would be shocked at the amount but under these circumstances the big number looks good!
No way. Thats ammunition for my wife. The less she knows the better. I have a rough idea. Thats good enough for me.
I have all major reciepts but small ones like bondo and hardner I don't keep. Need to get everything together and figure out totals
I HAD a build list with a running total on my old IBM Laptop. When the motherboard decided it was time to retire, it took the hard drive with it and the build list was one of the things that wasn't backed up. You're right though, most people really don't want to know how much money is actually going into the project! It doesn't take long for everything to add up into a major amount! -Scott H.
There are 2 types of people in this world, those that have had a hard drive failure, and those that will......
The one in my zune crashed last week It kinda sucks since I have some in old PCs that are 15+ year old and are running great. It gave me 4 years of flawless service, so it wasn't bad. The ipods I've had haven't even lasted a year
1 plan project 2 purchase parts 3 install parts 4 verify parts 5 shred receipt, destroy the evidence.
One thing that will make you feel better about the total is to divide it by the number of years that you have had the car. I am fast approaching year 20 with mine. ... next spring. The total (that I will admit to) ends up just being several hundred $ per year. Compare that to the couple thousand $ that you daily driver bleeds every year. Now if I can just get the Comet to move out of the garage under it's own power again ... ... got to use that special anniversary as a motivator....
I'll keep mine but don't add them up....I'm not that much of a masochist but if i do sell down the road, the new owner will appreciate having paper for everything that went into the car
