Just replaced the old filter with a new regular inline one and ... knock on wood ... the engine didn't die. Or at least this this the first time that my "test drive" hasn't starved the engine.

I'll venture out on a longer drive tomorrow but all indications point to this problem being solved. Thanks so much everyone!

what if it took and hacked the end off the line drilled a hole in my filler and ran a tube from the vapor line to the filler? would that work? seems like it would.

If it's the line I'm thinking of, it's really small to use as a return line for an EFI setup, that should be about 5/16" I'd think. The tubing I'm thinking you're using for this is about 1/8" ?

no it's 5/16 or 3/8. can't remember for sure which one but i know i only baught the two sizes when i was doing my fuel set up and one fit on snuggly like it should. just dropped the gas take found the valve that's causing me porblems.. ran a search trying to find a way to bypass it.. and wouldn't you know it this is the first thread to pop up! but anyway.. fuel vapors have me in their grasp!
