What would this do for me besides look completely sick. Well not this exact one, but something like it. I don't really know anything about IDF, and It's hard to find info online. Of course I'm research defficient online... Just don't know nothin about it and would like to know everything I can.

Hope you are ready to spend some money....those with the engine management system run real close to $5000. They do look awesome and they perform great after you dial in the tune. They can do well in gas mileage but make sure the control uses sequential firing order and not bank firing. Bank firing is fine for high rpm but at low rpm can load up certain cylinders causing rich running and less gas mileage.

well pretend I know what you said... good performance, good mileage, and if I hook em up to an EFI application? run them off the computer? Shouldn't a good tune do me good? or is this a bad route for EFI?

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
Try searching for "ITB" instead of IDF.

You'll find all the info you need on google.

I know 4 cylinder guys use motorcycle ITB's, but that's on sub 2.0L engines.
I'm not sure motorcycle one would be big enough for a 5.0L

You can pick up a set for as cheap as $100, you'd need 2 for a V8.

Now if you wanna be total badass you run ITBs with a plenum and twin 70mm turbos :yup:

Wow I just looked up the price of those for a SBF....since those are coming from austrailia you are paying in AUD(austrailian dollar) so with the USD(US dollar) conversion the price tag for the manifold, the 8 throttle bodys, linkage the blue velocity stacks(AKA ram tubes) and the fuel rails come to AUD $5,000.00 or USD $4,938.70

    http://www.efihardware.com/products/948/Windsor-quad-IDF-2-with-rams

Of course that doesnt give you any air filters or anything those are an extra AUD $33.00 or USD $32.60 each (thats $260.80 for 8 of them)

    http://www.efihardware.com/products/664/mesh-ram-tube-cover-90mm-ID

After that you need to buy fuel injectors to the size you need, a good place to start is a nice set of 24LB here are some venoms for a set of 8 for $219

    http://www.americanmuscle.com/vehipefuin24.html

Then for a nice sequential port fuel injection system controller like you would need for a V8 you are looking at a megasquirt 3. For that you start with a price of $540 for the controll box

    http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/megasquirtiii-ems-system-v357-assembled-unit-p-399.html

and unless you are going to make your own wiring harness you are going to need another $78 for the harness

    http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/1239-megasquirt-wiring-harness-for-ms3x-p-451.html

Then you need your little components, your map sensor(manifold absolute pressure) your O2 sensors, your camshaft position sensor, your crank trigger wheel, your crankshaft position sensor, and fuel pump.

Now having said all that yes it is a very good looking setup, you would be able to perform as well as one of the earlier 5.0 pre MAF (Mass Air Flow sensor). Because all that you are able to do with that is a SEFI(sequential electronic fuel injection) setup.
You will have to tune it yourself and every time you change something on your car your tune will change.
You will have a more efficienct and more accurate setup transplanting a 5.0 MAF system in your car and performance parts are more readily available if you wanted them in the future.

Of course the only caveat in my thinking is if you had the ability and the time to make all the mechanical components yourself, like if you found an Hillborn mechanical injection system and convert it over then all of my cost analysis goes down the drain.

If you wanted just a complete kit here in the US you can buy a Hillborn EFI pre-made system for $6775.00 that is laptop tuneable http://hilborninjection.com/product.asp?Id=365&CatId=176 but funny enough you still have to buy the air filter kits for them, and other little accesories.
