A couple years ago I over heard a guy say "thats sad someone is fixing a Maverick up" so today I had this painted on the back of the Maverick---

I need to clean the soap stone off of it.

Whats, "sad" is how you'll blow their 92 Toyota Tercels away by 10 cars. Bunch of jackasses that know nothing about anything. Clean Maverick BTW!

When I was doing the body work, getting ready for paint, on mine back in '93, I had a guy harass me incessantly about me wasting my time doing anything with a Maverick! Went on for a few months..but I never said anything! I had a few rust spots under the hood and a few small holes in the floors...but he had the replace both inner fenderwells, both fenders, both floors, both quarters and the tailight panel...all on his '75 Nova! I think I got the last laugh...

My maverick has made many trips down the 1/4 mile and I have gotten the same crap from mostly chevy guys , the mouth goes away when I put them on the trailer. Mavericks make a great drag racer they plant the tires hard even with stock suspension. All the Early Mustangs I owned needed serious work to make them leave the start line , there springs rap up like crazy and the rear end trys to come through the floor.

I get a lot more compliments than I do negative comments, but that one just stuck in my head. So I had it that painted on the back, looks pretty cool too, and I have a story to go with it. :)
