There are two oval shaped rubber bumpers that sit underneath the fenders up toward the cowl. Can anyone remember which way they are installed? A pic if you happen to have the fenders off would be nice. It appears that they hold the fender in place and probably prevent rattling. Thanks

Is this the bushing you are talking about?

Thanks for the pic. That is the bushing I was refering to. It is hard to tell in the picture but there is a "knob" the sticks up on the bushing. Is that toward the center of the car or the other direction? Thanks, great picture!!! Jerry, while you are there can you take a picture of the entire cowl from the front of the car and post it? I want to be sure the hood bushings and other misc parts are on correctly. Thanks again.

How about these? That "knob' of the bushing is towards the outside of the car.

I don't know if this cowl picture is what you were looking for. Mine is a 77 and I hav eno idea if it is different from year to year.

Jerry, great pictures......Exactly what I needed. Can anyone tell me what the two small metal strips are at the edges of the cowl. Do you have any idea?

If you're talking about the ones right next to the rear hood bumper, they are for the cowl weather stripping. They help hold the ends of it on the car.

I suspected that as well but I'm not sure what real purpose the cowl weatherstrip served! Water will still enter!

I suppose to keep the hot engine compartment air from entering the cowl vent. I used Kc-135R aircraft door seals......no water gets in now :D
