rebuilt the carb and restarted the maverick today, man that felt good. I'm trying to identify/reconnect some hoses/lines that the previous owner unattached and/or plugged up. the distributor line form carb to distributor i figured out. (LOL) okay, now he EGR mystery: I have an 'EGR' vacuum line coming out of the carter RBS (it's plugged right now) I also have an opening on the intake, at the base of the carb that spews vapor when running...my guess is that an EGR attaches there, the hose from the front of the valve cover attaches to the EGR valve, as does the small line from the carb...I thought that I had it nailed until both Chilton and Auto Zone tell me that '72 250's don't require EGR valves (hmm)...definitely need advice on this one. AND if your really in a vacuum line mood: There's a vacuum spliiter located right above the exhaust manifold..one split leads to the tranny via metal tube...any clues on the other two??? thanks again. Someone told me you could plug the hole with a sparkplug< may look kinda funny though. I need the fitting that goes into the hole so I can re-connect my EGR valve . The fitting I took out I stripped, but I would rather hook it back up as opposed to pluging it as I have 77
