I'm embarrassed to ask, but after checking fluid (which is full. really full actually) what should i do? Do i go straight to flushing or check hoses? I don't even really know what hoses to check or where:huh:

First thing I'd do is to get the level back in the hash marks. You can use a pump like you find at AutoZone or other car places to suck some out instead of having to drop the pan.

Check the fluid level with the engine idling in Park - that will give you a correct reading. Make sure your modulator is connected and that you have at least 10 inches of vacuum. Check to make sure your kick-down linkage returns and operates freely. If all that checks out then you may have a stuck governor valve.
If the car moves then you have pressure and the cooler lines in no way affect the shifting.

Thanks guys!! Modulator hose was FUBAR and the modulator is an oxidation science experiment. Fluid levels are all good (checked in park, idling) so i figured i would have my buddy help me install the mod stuff next... Wish me luck and if you can, keep an eye out for my questions, I'm not the best mechanic!!
