Well I tore up the c4 in the Maverick finally! .. decided to put the toploader in it!! Its gonna be a he'll of a ride with the blower on it. Im making a new stronger z bar to support the 2800lb presser plate that seems to be the only hold up so far .. has anyone had to beef up there z bars if so do you have any pictures of it

I did one back in the late 80's and I still need to do the one for my current car but I have no pics. Its pretty simple though. What you have to do is basically parallel the existing arms making them thicker. And where they attach to the bar you need to make the new piece wrap around the bar on the opposite side. Where the arms curve you need to weld on the straight sections and then heat the new piece and bend it to match the original and continue to welding it on both sides.
