Some guys around the corner from me have had a car covered up in their driveway for the past year. All I could ever see what a bright blue color and some blinged out wheels, and could tell it was an older ride....just not sure what kind. Rolled past there today, and it was uncovered. A Maverick Grabber! VERY nice one, too. Though the tires are totally flat so obviously some work needs to be done. I was pretty smiley, rounding the corner. Thinking how peculiar it is that two Mavericks, similar in age, live just a few houses away from one another. If theirs wasnt so pretty, I'd be tempted to ask them if they want to sell any parts Going to see if I can sneak a snapshot when I take the dog for a walk.
Once you get a maverick you will start noticing them pop up way more often, it's kinda neat! I remember back in high school my first day of junior year I got out of class and there's a 74 grabber right there! A fellow student had gotten it from his parents, it ended up winning best seats in the yearbook. Which was quite a feat, since there were plenty of rich kids with expensive European cars. And his little old grabber with highbacks beat them all
Ever since I picked up my Comet, I've been seeing Mavs and Coms more often, usually the same ones. There are about 3 different ones in between here in langley all the way up to Mission that run! (about an hours drive on the highway) -Andrew
here in Manitoba, I have owned my car for 3 full years and have only seen 2 others in that entire time. not the same 2 many times but 2 total. like, ever!
I have seen three Comets in the Chicago metro. "Cook County area " were talkin abt an area w/ 5.3 million people" since I got my car July 09. Two were red and one was a GT, not sure abt the other. The third was white, spotted at a car corral. I have seen approx. a dozen Mav's in that same period - most at car events. A local Stang club has an annual Ford show that draws in the neighborhood of 700 "Ford only" cars; I was the only Mav/Comet there in 2010. I did'nt go this year cuz it was raining. I wanted to go; I had registered early. I plan on going nx year - will also regis. early.
I live in a small town of less than 20,000 people and after I bought mine I have noticed at least 6 others. I also know where there are 2 more sitting on someones property. That seems like a lot for such a small town. The best and coolest part is that I have the only actual Grabber.
I have seen two stallions a 4 door and a beautiful tubbed out 71 or 72 comet... And to show how much of a small world we live in, I recently started dating a woman that loves classic cars.. We were talking about her brother and his best friend shelby who has mavericks... Turns out I met her brother over two years ago when he came and picked up my 74 grabber... Now I will get to see my old mav transforming into a drag car...
Ive been doing some research here in the UK and im pretty sure I have the only road registered Maverick Grabber on the road. :bananaman
I saw a Mav and a Comet on a car lot here in Maconga, U.S.A. just the other week...I guess if you buy the mav they will throw the Comet in for parts...... there are tons of them here in Ga... my 15 year old Son (Boy) and i were riding on some back roads in the N.C. mountains looking for mavericks. up on a hillside we saw 5-6 old cars sitting in a yard. I pulled off the side of the road and got my binos out and started glassing the cars to see what they were. I saw some movement on the porch so i glassed over and it was an old man sitting there with a set of binos looking at us. we thought it might be a good idea to get out of there... ......
I guess if you buy the mav they will throw the Comet in for parts...... I think u have that backwards - more than likely, Mav thrown in for parts...
