So I have a mustang ii with a rebuilt v6 I think its the 2.9l. It has a mmotorcraft 2150. Is this carb any bbetter than the autolite 1100? Is/was the motorcraft Carb any good and was it stock on the mustang ii? Would it help the 200 of the maverick any.
    Thanks

Depending on the year of your mustang, the engine could be a 2.6 or 2.8. We never had any problems with those carbs other than the normal things, jetting would be what you need to work on.

The 2150 is a great carb! Its very easy to rebuild, you will get great gas mileage and there very reliable when its tuned properly.

I think i might look into a swap then. I'm also looking to add a cold air intake. Any opinions on that?

Spectra and K&N make some pretty good kits. I've never used one before, but they seem very easy to install. Here is a spectra dual cold air intake system for less than $300.00. This one might actually work well if you have the grabber hood with the two openings.

That looks pretty sweet. I might find a grabber hood for that ha. I was looking at some at classic inlines. I like the look of the 90* arm. Do you think those would work well with that motorcraft?

Im not 100% sure if a 90* will fit directly on the 2150, but with the right adapter anything is possible. Probably would be best to take some measurements. I would wait on someone to chime in that has one and see what they have to say.

I also wanted to ask how a cold air will effect the cold idle. What effects will it have on that. The cold air means no hot air return right?

You can purchase an adapter at oreillys or autozone. There little plastic adapters. I think the 4v will fit on the 2v without an the adapter.
