Although a little late Daddy's new present arrived today. Opening the box revealed a nice new Billet, Stage 5, Spragless, 8" converter. I can't wait to give it a shot.
That looks awesome! I have never seen a billet torque converter. I might have to head over the bridge to see you run this spring.
Be careful with what they are calling "Spragless". To my knowlwege Transmission Specialties still hold the patent on the technology. If specked for the right aplication Spragless converters can be very fast, deadly consistent and extreemely durable.
Yes, it's a RevMax heard nothing but good things from the GM guys on their converters. Went with a spragless for the durability and cost but mostly because that’s what the experts suggested for my combo. It’s a nice piece from the outside, well see what the inside does in March.
To the best of my knowledge, TSI's patent expired in 2003. Might be wrong. Spragless in mine too. Love it but not "quite" as fast as the sprag converter. We're only talking a few hundredths and a MPH at most (1/8 mile). Seems more consistent too. Deadly actually.
i can get the price but i need to know if you want spragless, or standard, and all the specs on your setup, i can get a 9 1/2 that will handle 750 hp for up to about 4500 stall in a 302 or up to 4800 in a stroker or 351 or bigger standard stroke, for in the range of 375.00 plus shipping, any stall under that,to about 2500,these are great convertors ive sold about 30 ,not 1 comeback,i had 1 in my maverick in the pic for my avatar, and my bbc s10 ,same conv. im offering you,i ran 7.40s 1/8th with a 1.50 60ft ,in the street maverick and the s10 has been 6 teens with a 1.38 60 ft ,so there good conv. and work great on the street ,because of the 9 1/2 dia.,they dont heat up ,but you do need a trany cooler, for alot of street use.......this is a pic of my s10 468 bbc glide 4800 stall on brake and e85,it has been 6.16 @111 mph 1/8th mile
